Poetry Planet


Welcome to The League of Canadian Poets National  Poetry Month Blog 2009!  The theme this year is Poetry Planet.  During the month of April a different League member’s work  will be featured daily.

National  Poetry Month:

Artists and NPM participators are encouraged to discuss and elaborate on themes of poetry related to the ideas of land, culture, nature and how we define Canada, from the very first Canadian artists, Aboriginal Peoples, and storytelling, and to today’s youth, who reflect the diversity of the land and languages of Canadian cultural climates.

Submission Guidelines:

Please send 1 poem to: lcpnationalpoetrymonth@yahoo.com. Subject Line: National Poetry Month Submission. Submissions must be electronic and should not exceed 200 words. Send in MS word document AND within the body of your e-mail. Artwork ( i.e. photographs, drawings, etc. ) to accompany the poem is encouraged. Please include any accompanying artwork in jpeg, or tiff format, no larger than 400 X 400 pixels. Submissions are on a first come first serve basis and also taking into account geographical region. We are looking for representation from all over Canada.

Contact information should include: Your name, Province/Territory and city where you live. A biography is optional- please no longer than 50 words including internet links. For additional information please contact: lcpnationalpoetrymonth@yahoo.com
